An expertly crafted blend of live mosses in a dry carrier. Expertly crafted, long lasting, and shelf stable moss mix that is perfect for creating beautiful forest aesthetic.
We recommend using this product in very high humidity environments. 80-90% will yield best results. Please use in enclosures with 80% glass and 20% screen coverage OR adequate access to consistent water / moisture. THIS PRODUCT TAKES 6-9 MONTHS FOR FULL EFFICACY.
This premium moss mix is a mixture of temperate and tropical mosses (mostly from tissue culture), and fern spores on hand. This is our new, dry moss mix, and is packed in sphagnum as the carrier. Minimum of 8-10 species per bag.
Option 01: Using the mix DRY
After using BryoBase on top of FrogDaddy GeoForm Clay, or other types of backgrounds (we recommend cork mosaics), sprinkle dry mix all over moist BryoBase and lightly press using gloves. Then lightly mist and let the magic happen!
Option 02: Using the mix REHYDRATED / WET
Empty internal package into secondary bag and fill the secondary bag with water to the fill line. Seal. Mix thoroughly with hands until thin milkshake / smoothie consistency. It may not thicken much, no worries if not. Place the bag on a flat surface and let sit for 60 - 90 minutes, then dump all mixed contents into a bowl and spread around your vivarium. You’ll want to toss / paint the mixture into the background and wherever else you want moss to grow with a spoon, or other instrument. A plastic spoon is included in the kit, but you can use other methods, like painting a layer with a paintbrush, flinging it on, etc.
You can also propagate this moss on a moist bed of processed Sphagnum moss and dirt under LED lights, pure spag moss may not be appropriate for all the different species of moss to grow, so we recommend adding soils, leaves, and bark pieces to the growout container for maximum results.
